Monstrosity - In Dark Purity

Well, they have finally done it. After two albums of near-flawless Death Metal, Monstrosity have achieved perfection. In Dark Purity is technical and yet intense - brutal and yet memorable. Apparently losing their old singer, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, to Cannibal Corpse was a blessing in disguise - for both bands, really. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that this is the best technical Death Metal I’ve ever heard, but it’s a contender, to be sure. And I don’t know that I’ve ever heard anyone pull off a Slayer cover (“Angel of Death”) so well. Every now and then I say that all new bands should be forced to listen to a particular album to hear how things should be done. This is one such album.

This album Margaret Aitken, the great story of Balwearie witches. After pleading guilty under torture, the Commission pointed out that witch witches throughout the country in exchange for their life hunter aid offered. During the four-month period, after the Aitken Commission has been identified by his was visited several parts of Scotland and detained a number of people put to the test and burned at the stake. Aitken is finally driven to madness by guilt and haunting looks of my brain can not be killed by the hands of innocent girls. She has proven to be a fraud and is burned in the game itself. (Our interpretation of this story)

I saw this yesterday (12/28/15) and I didn’t want to believe it. Lemmy and Motorhead played a large role in my ill-spent youth and even though I knew it wasn’t possible, I thought that Lemmy would always be there. He lived fast and hard, just like his music. He was an inspiration to countless people and Metal as we know it wouldn’t be the same without him. He was a true legend. His Iron Fist shook the world and changed it forever. Rest in peace, brother Lemmy. You will never be forgotten.
