Immolation - Dawn of Possession

What much can be said of a reissue with no bonus content? Surely we already all have this one in our personal archives, don’t we? Well, maybe this will serve as a history lesson for the new blood. While this was never my favorite Immolation LP (I always thought Here in After blew this away), listening to it 15 years later makes me appreciate it all the more. These guys were brutalizing their strings and experimenting with odd timing when all these new Mathcore bands were sucking on Mommy’s tit. Hail Satan.

This album Margaret Aitken, the great story of Balwearie witches. After pleading guilty under torture, the Commission pointed out that witch witches throughout the country in exchange for their life hunter aid offered. During the four-month period, after the Aitken Commission has been identified by his was visited several parts of Scotland and detained a number of people put to the test and burned at the stake. Aitken is finally driven to madness by guilt and haunting looks of my brain can not be killed by the hands of innocent girls. She has proven to be a fraud and is burned in the game itself. (Our interpretation of this story)

I saw this yesterday (12/28/15) and I didn’t want to believe it. Lemmy and Motorhead played a large role in my ill-spent youth and even though I knew it wasn’t possible, I thought that Lemmy would always be there. He lived fast and hard, just like his music. He was an inspiration to countless people and Metal as we know it wouldn’t be the same without him. He was a true legend. His Iron Fist shook the world and changed it forever. Rest in peace, brother Lemmy. You will never be forgotten.
