Cyclone Temple - I Hate… Therefore I Am

Posted on Monday, October 04, 2010

Cyclone Temple is a talented bunch. Greg Fulton (a founding member of Znowhite) has assembled an impressive band that reminds me of Testament or Xentrix. That is to say: powerful vocals (courtesy of Brian Troch) that are actually sung, coupled with heavy, fast music. I was also impressed by the fact that the songs are memorable, yet intense. This is a winning combination. This album contains nine songs, all written by Fulton. The three that are essential to life are: “Sister,” “Born to Lose” and the best song on the LP “Words Are Just Words.” The last song, “Silence So Loud,” is slightly below the high standard set by the rest of the album, but it’s still more than acceptable. This is an extremely commendable first album and I think Cyclone Temple will be around for a long time. I Hate… Therefore I Am is recommended.

{Poor Greg Fulton could never get an even break. After many line-up changes and a couple more releases, CT finally broke up. As far as I know, Greg is now in a new band, but I’ve not heard from him for years.}
