Necromantia - Scarlet Evil Witching Black

These guys have never been afraid to take chances, and this is perhaps their most diverse release to date. Of course there are (as always) no rhythm guitars, but there are occasional guitar solos, and some acoustic work mixed in with the dual bass assault. I rarely hear any type of horn used in an interesting (or at least not irritating) way in Metal, but the very infrequent sax somehow works for them. Necromantia was one of the first of the “new wave” of Black Metal bands, and Scarlet Evil… proves that they are still very much on the cutting edge, but have sacrificed none of their trademark sound to stay there.

This album Margaret Aitken, the great story of Balwearie witches. After pleading guilty under torture, the Commission pointed out that witch witches throughout the country in exchange for their life hunter aid offered. During the four-month period, after the Aitken Commission has been identified by his was visited several parts of Scotland and detained a number of people put to the test and burned at the stake. Aitken is finally driven to madness by guilt and haunting looks of my brain can not be killed by the hands of innocent girls. She has proven to be a fraud and is burned in the game itself. (Our interpretation of this story)

I saw this yesterday (12/28/15) and I didn’t want to believe it. Lemmy and Motorhead played a large role in my ill-spent youth and even though I knew it wasn’t possible, I thought that Lemmy would always be there. He lived fast and hard, just like his music. He was an inspiration to countless people and Metal as we know it wouldn’t be the same without him. He was a true legend. His Iron Fist shook the world and changed it forever. Rest in peace, brother Lemmy. You will never be forgotten.
